Caddy or GTI/GTD

Post by thorn »

Ok Guys what would buy a GTI/GTD or Caddy? I know a lot of you guys have a Caddy because of your business but if you had a choice purely for social driving would you choose a Caddy over a GTI/GTD.

Yeah thats exactly what I'm saying if you had no need for a van what would you have just for normal every day driving.

well i'd have the GTI for every day driving so much more tunable than the GTD and the price of diesel now but in all honesty the wife has a touran 2.0tdi 6 speed chipped to 172 and it flies, drives a lot like the caddy i'd be happy to drive that all day long

Well I`m as lucky as lucky can be in this (only) instance, as I have a GTD AND a Caddy Maxi Life.

Only because we have a Great Dane and she is now, at less than 8 months old, too big to go in the back of the Golf.
While the Caddy is a nice easy drive, I only got it last Saturday and drove nearly 300 miles home, I much prefer my Golf for a daily driver.

I`s a bit mad really, theres only me, the girlfriend and the dog, and we have a car each !
Dog needs to learn how to drive now.

tough on as I owned a GTI. I like my caddy but the power of the GTI would win it.

I must admit I have a GTI as well, just use the van for daily running around and transporting my road bike to various events :D

I again have both a caddy and the gtd 140 and despite loving my caddy I only have one to transport my bikes about on the weekend, it is my daily driver due to the golf really being the girlfriends.

Golf is more comfortable as its standard
Golf is a hell of a lot quieter
You would have to spend a lot of money on a caddy to get it like a car

Don't know why you would want a van with out intending to use it, may as well get a touran ;)

I have a van as my daily driver, I don't need a van, but it hasn't half come in useful, the only thing I would note is for some thing built for people to almost live in (i.e. people who work in them doing huge mileages) its not refined or comfortable enough, so i'm currently in the process of swapping out the seats for more comfy ones, but i do miss some of the nicer details to my old car.
If you're not living on the edge, you take up too much room.
