Locking and dead locking.

Post by DaveN » Sun Jan 13, 2019 4:37 pm

Hello all,
First time caddy owner, with a slight possible issue.
If I click the lock button on my remote it locks everything.
If I double click the lock buttton it locks but then unlocks the back, seems a bit odd as most vehicles tend to deadlock by double clicking lock.

Any ideas? Or guidance?

Dave

I'm fairly sure you have a problem if double push on your lock button unlocks the rear.
From memory it is described in the vehicle handbook as the first push deadlocks all doors, a second push releases the deadlock so someone on the inside can get out if they need to.

Check your handbook but I'm 99.9% sure that's not correct.

When you say “double click” you mean in quick succession or after a slight pause?

Like within a second or two I’d say.

Just to clarify....

It's not the "alarm" LED. It signifies whether the deadlocks are activated or not.

One press - deadlocks on - LED fast flashes for a couple of seconds then slow flash every couple of seconds.

Two presses - deadlocks off - LED fast flashes for a couple of seconds then off for 30 seconds then slow flash every couple of seconds.

Two presses does not disarm the interior sensor. This is done from the door pillar button only.

LED permanently on signifies fault.

DaveN - I wonder if your key fob may be faulty. It sounds like the middle button which unlocks back doors only may somehow be being activated.

Have you tried the spare key?

I’m afraid my spare key is the poverty stricken non fob option. So not possible. It is a strange scenario I must say
