Daft question. Why are the wing mirrors different shapes?

Had the Caddy for a week now. With the sunny weather today i thought is treat her to a wash. Then i noticed the wing mirrors are different shapes from one another. Why is this?

Probably has to do with the field of vision of the driver versus passenger mirror.

I remember the old 124 series Mercs had asymmetrical mirrors

It took me about a month to notice mine I was driving down the motorway, I was convinced someone had swapped one of them till I looked at another one

The T4 transporters have similar design too

If it really bothers you you can always buy a lhd passenger mirror or should that be lhd drivers mirror. You won't be able to see a great deal through it though. Ask me how I know

I put maxi life ones on mine they are the same size.
How do you know bigfella?

I have currently got a lhd drivers side mirror on mine, can't see a great deal through it. Gonna go back to standard.
