Hi Doc, I have emailed you the log. So the n75 duty cycle starts high and reduces as boost is required to increase. There is variation so something is commanding the n75 but It seems that it never gets below 55% whatever the power requirement. I notice the maf reading increases as the actual boost approaches specified albeit very slowly. On this run there are a couple of hills and on the steepest incline i had to down shift to 3rd gear to make any progress. I would have expected the n75 to be down around 0 - 10% as i try to maintain speed at these points.
I guess the question is still what is going on with this n75 control?

Double check cam belt - cam/pump positions. Then check pump timing on VCDS.
Very flat at low revs could be a tooth out which won’t show on VCDS.

Hi Elvis, many thanks for your input but this is a PD engine so no Pump to be timed. Thanks again.

Of course

Still worth checking cam timing isn’t out. Doesn’t show on diagnostics.

Cam Vs crank timing is shown as torsion value in VCDS measuring blocks.

Measuring blocks, group 004, value 4.
It's got the label of "Torsion value" on there.

Thanks Doc. Oh and Elvis - when you look up your Torsion Value dont wonder why its in kiloWatts like I did the kW is german for crank angle.

Could be same issue I have. No boost. This appears as fault P1592.
Boost and MAF sensor giving different readings.
Cure could be use diagnostic tool to check which is running with an odd reading and replace. Default value resets when sensor swapped so reset andclear code. Turn off and on and start, should then be happy.

Watch this as will help maybe

Hi Robink2, thanks for your input. Have changed the MAF sensor a while ago and have recently changed the MAP which is the one your article is talking about. All to no avail. I have just returned from a visit to another mapping centre to have the software checked. Only thing found was that the EGR delete had been done. Despite this I have had the OEM version re-installed to be sure there are no anomalies. Unfortunately no change in performance.
So here i am now seriously considering the “Swan-Vesta” solution! Really, I despair.
