Caddy Maxi Life "TOWBAR ISSUE" bumper

Just had a Tow Bar fitted to my VW Caddy Maxi Life.

The tow bar works perfectly, as the electrics work perfectly as well.
My issue is after fitting the rear bumper has now got lots of flex on the top and you are now unable to stand on the rear bumper. Before this you could jump on it and would only rock the suspension. To fit the tow bar frame they needed to remove the original metal plate which is now lower allowing for flex in the bumper.

Surely a tow bar that is designed for a VW Caddy should not have this issue as it is very hard to climb in the boot without standing on the bumper. So my question is. Has anybody else fitted a tow bar to a VW Caddy Maxi Life with a tailgate and came across this issue, and if so how did they get around this.

I'd contact your towbar company, there's are towbars out there that retain or replace the original crash bar so this doesn't happen.

I have a tow bar fitted to my maxi life with tailgate. This was already fitted when I bought the van.

My bumper does not flex and if I stand ok the tow bar this does affect the suspension.

Not sure what make it is but I can have a look of you would like to know?

Would be great if you did have a make for your tow bar that's on your Caddy would be appreciated
" when camping you forget how much you sit on the bumper " mine would just bow in the middle now

Crash guard removed but I reckon should of been replaced with part number 1

Is there not a polystyrene/rigid foam pad/packing that sits on top of the towbar crash bar, that helps to support the top part of the plastic bumper?
