Two thousand miles and two cracks, I hit a bit of rutting this time and got a small bump but nothing major and I’ve cracked one again. Is this just how it is? (They’re supposed to be good ones) If it is I’ll take them off and throw them in the canal (the canal was a metaphor).
How much better protected would I be on 19’s? I mean I get the maths but does it translate or are they only a tiny bit better?? I’m actually thinking about those scirocco turbines but they’re only 18’s..
Cheers people.

@Harvey11
I’m afraid its a compromise and 20’s on 30 profile tyres ar susceptible to bulging with going over cats eyes that haven’t been sunk in properly etc … but they provide the look! I find that 235/30/20 tyres are better than my previous 225/30/20 tyres and sadly the 225/35/20 just doesn’t give the look i’m afraid. I suppose 235/35/19 is a better option but i’d rather stick to my 20’s personally and be extra vigilant … also, keeping the van as far away from the wife’s driving helps … considerably

Cheers for the reply bud. Yes they do look good but if I’ve even got to worry about cat eyes it’s just not an option for me, I need to able to drive it normally and spending extra time looking at the road surface rather than traffic (the biker in me has me watching traffic a fair bit up the road) they’ll have to go.

I guess it depends how fast you drive and how bad the roads are. But my 19s are fine.

@Caddyluv
Thanks bud, I don’t drive fast at all and the roads aren’t that bad around here.
Looks like I’ve got to find some decent 19’s or 18’s. The last bump was nothing but it’s put me off the road..
