My new biking/ other activities caddy.
Hey everyone new here and just brought my first 2k after owning a Mk1 which I am very pleased with (smiling all the way home) and planning a few things which I will hopefully update when done. It's the 1.9TDI with blue motion technology and some nice extras like cruise control and heated seats. Going to insulate and line the back and instal a leisure battery. Mountain bike fits whole down the left side so just needs some brackets to hold it in place and to fabricate a fold up or removable bed frame for the other side.
Any tips or comments welcome.

allows you lock 15mm/20mm axles in but you can also use with standard 9mm quick release

Those axel mounts are really cool and may end up using one but my aim is to get the bike in whole. My dad fabricated a slot for the front wheel of his track motorbike to run into so thinking of steeling that idea. Got most of the bloody builders dust out today!

Split relay installed. 3m long pre made kit was perfect. Relay behind passenger seat, battery behind driver seat as my 12v electrics will be going on that side and keeps storage space free via side door.
2mm aluminium battery tray fitted.

Bulkhead sides cut off and adapted. Should look alright once carpeted.

Cutting the sides. Going for a simple single board to cover the whole of each side, insulation behind and carpet the front.

Snap! I just got a caddy for mountain biking, not tried my bike in yet hope it fits or I may have to take the bulk head out.

Look forward to reading this and seeing what you do. Bought a caddy for the same reason. Gets bike in whole and maybe 1 or 2 nights camping with gear hidden.
I am tempted by a fork mount purely as it keeps the bike from rolling along. Just have to think where to put the wheels though

Was a good read but seems the op didn't finish the story of his conversion
