Gazza's build (the vanette)

Post by gazza31112 »

Taken a while to get a build thread going tbh didn't even notice this thread!
Still got loads of old pics so should be able to mush them all together in the right order!

Brought it on Halloween 2019

First proper chang was removing wiper and getting a black blank, then my next was kind of forced due to having the rear window smashed a week after getting the van, which left a dent just under the window where the scum used a screwdriver.....gutted

Then came the first major "scary" change, since window got smashed I was terrified leaving tools in the van so I was looking around at bulkhead ideas, in the end decided on ripping mine out and making my own. ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Was still buying but had no time to put anything in due to work, so on a free weekend some interior lights went in, painted the centre stereo trim and door handles gloss black. Some spotlights in the rear headliner, then shelving and carpeting the rear (still haven't finished to this day)ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Smashing van, especially for a work van!
Nice job on the bulkhead, where did you get the Volkswagen badge that lights?

Latest project is splitting headlights,
They didn't fit in my oven so I had to use a Dremel to cut the sealant and open them up.
What was meant to be just dechroming and spraying gloss black ended up taking nearly 3 days to do one headlight, sprayed the outside of the reflectors, any other matt black plastic or chrome a nice gloss black.
Then using 12v LED neon rope I outlined the original reflectors and cut out the piece that follows in from the grill and fitted a light inside, fitted dynamic indicators along the top, which also serve as white DRL when indicators are not on. Fitted and wired it all in today.
Really happy with it. Saves me £££ on xenons!!!
Just got another one to do now! Let the fun begin again!!!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
