@SlowPoke Thanks mate!! The S5 is a weapon!
That's a support bracket and socket for my leg. I had my right leg amputated above the knee after a car accident in 2014. Cycling is now what I do for a living, the main reason I got the Caddy was to help with carrying my bikes and equipment around to racing and training. I never intended on modifying the van so much but after looking at the builds on this forum, things have quickly gotten out of hand!!! hahaha

awww geez that carpet looks stellar. You've convinced me its the best way to go. Looks so good.

How's it for toning down the road noise?
How many is too many Volkswagens?

Thanks bud, I took my time getting it right, especially in all the tight corners, probably over did the adhesive but hopefully it means its not going anywhere!
Yeah its made a massive difference to the road noise, I think most of what I'm still hearing will be gone once I sound deaden the floor in the front and add the carpets. Still have no idea when they will arrive though.

@HicksyOz, thanks for the reply. I thought as much, but didn't want to assume.

That's an inspirational pic right there, kudos mate!

How do you find the frame? Any flex in it?

Cheers

Thanks @Npr_nath
@SlowPoke Definitely not the norm to see on a high end race bike, might look simple but its a piece of equipment that took a lot of work to make.
Appreciate the kind words, I struggle to see myself as that though. I find it quite fun, people see me as "inspirational" right up until I pass them!!
The cervelo is unreal, honestly the best bike I've ever ridden. The frame is VERY stiff but the ride is actually more comfortable than the previous rim brake S5, also incredible to corner and descend on. If your into Time Trialling the P5 is just as good and stupid fast! It's one of those bikes that you can't fully explain, you've just gotta ride one to understand. I know that the price scares most people off straight away but for me it's worth every penny!

Hicksy - You may not think it or feel it going about your business on your bike, but many looking on may use that visage whizzing by for a little extra motivation :)

Im lucky enough to have a velodrome not far from me, and have made nice with a few of the locals. Managed to steal a few laps on a couple of nice bikes. One was a Bianchi Aquilla and the other was a Colnago Concept. I offered a kidney, but alas, no takers :D

Definitely understand that side of things, and it's a privilege if what I am doing gets people motivated to ride a bike!
Which Velodrome? I race both road and track. Are there any GB squad members that ride there?
Both bikes are awesome, I'm quite one sided with my love for cervelo but I do like the look of the colnago.

As it happens, im spoilt for choice with Velodromes to be fair. I have 4 within an easy distance of home! Canterbury, Hurstville, DGV and Lidcombe :)

Unsure re GB team guys, ill check on my next visit though now.

Im not sure my misses will agree with me buying any more bikes..... im sure id have to get rid of other hobby items first haha.

Great looking van HicksyOz though I am slightly biased because of the colour. Been watching a couple of YouTube videos with an Oz road rider called Cam Nicholls doing road bike fitting with a guy called Neil Stanbury. Now that is road bike fitting to the millimetre. Keep up the good work.

Four, geez! That is spoilt for choice! I think the guys I know well would train in Manchester though. My wife has given up trying to stop me buying bikes. I'll have to get a photo of them all lined up but even I'll admit its getting ridiculous. I have 3 S5's (disc brake version) one for the ergo, one to train on and a custom painted one for racing, an S3 rim brake, a P5 disc and a P3 rim brake TT bike and 2 Argon18 track bikes... and I still have my Redline bmx which I haven't ridden since my accident.

I know of Cam, not sure about Neil. They live in a different state to me though.

Ah, good old BMX. Even though im getting on, its oddly still on of my fav things to ride. Ive been eyeballing this a bit of late: https://www.sebikes.com.au/collections/ ... -ripper-29

HicksyOz, Seats arrived today and they look absolutely sick, I got them from a wrecker in Sydney, donor car was actually in not bad condition so I’m not to worried about pre existing damage, I like the overall minimalist design of your van, how many hours do think it took to get to point? Did you buy sound deadening insulation locally
