Well, this caddy owning thing could get expensive I think, although, that said I’ve managed to find the correct (I think) cruise stalk for £15 and a set of Touran full height red display and temp gauge (after Doc pointed me in the right direction, cheers pal) with a cheeky offer of £25, so if I keep getting bargains it mightn’t work out too bad. Combined with the five matching Touran seats with brackets and door cards for just £200 locally, the purchases are mounting up

Bought and fitted a Caddy 18 wheel along with cruise stalks when it was stripped.

Re: First time caddy build for long time Dub fan.
Started preparing the van for the Touran seats today. Made a start cutting out the floor extension. Only a couple of hours. Full tidy up tomorrow, then some Kurust and weld thru primer before I offer up the brackets.
This van was originally belonged to a show dogs owner. I am assuming it must have been hosed out from time to time. Look at the detritus (and rust) behind all the panels!

Sorry to hear about your engine ! Gotta give my mate a tow tomorrow as his 57 T5 camper threw a rod (BRS or BXE I think!) Mines a BLS which apparently suffer the same issues
Cheers for the interest.

Oooff!
Today’s work was to weld in the plates. Just so happened to set fire about the tank!!! Shit myself but got it under control before it got out of hand with a bucket and a rag that just happened to be in the garage! That’ll teach me to have a hose standing by!!!

Haha, thats for my dogs. They like a ride out!
Just got in from the van. Decided I wanted to fit the front seats too! Boy what a task! Seats out, console out, rubber carpets and under felt out, Touran carpets with underfelt, rear floor mounted stash boxes in, Touran seat cubbys in Touran seats. Ended up working by torch light!
A few trim pieces in the morning and it’s done. I might even get the door cards in. I’ll also get better pics tomorrow.

Just did a quick clean on the seats after refitting the trims. A bit better I think.

Cheers fella. It seems to improve the feel of the cabin along with the steering wheel. Can’t wait to start on the rear carpet and proofing.

Just visited a scrappy local to our caravan who happened to have a Touran in for breaking so bought the front bumper and grille for £60. Gonna strip it and prep it tomorrow for my mate to paint it.
