Nice van! Have a look at this thread for an idea (or instructions) of how to make a bed that is removable, gives storage and can be used with the folded down rear seats.

I think the folding platform idea is deffo the answer. I am thinking drilling lots of largish holes to reduce weight while retaining strength and just laying it over the existing storage boxes and seats. I reckon a selfinflating matress will be good enough to sleep on and quite small when not inflated.
Yes I had seen the bus in the second link. It comes up eventually when you search for caddy and woody. I love the steps in the back door but have no idea how, and I'm looking for a similar roof rack idea.
Thanks for teh comments and cheers for looking. Kind regards Woody
Great build!! I didn't realise how much of the Touran interior was interchangeable (Front cabin area). Nice to see something different with the wood paneling.

Having finally had a bit of nice weather and parts arriving I have finally finished the inside around the windows.
I also fitted a cable inside the door that allows you to open it from the inside as the inner handle doesn't always work. It's the purple dice above the handle.
I'd like to say I all done now but having seen some of the other vans at the show I have been thinking about how to install a bed. The seats fold down and I reckon I can use the plastic boxes to provide a bit of a base and keep some storage. However right now I have a 1989 Vespa to get back on the road so the van will be taking a back seat for a while.
That wood work is epic!!! Shame i cant replicate as it would get buggered being work van.
