Re: JD's Caddy Build
No worries Does yours have an extended foot rest on the left? I would’ve thought the accelerator pedal would be the same on the automatics with just the brake pedal coming down from above the floor/mat

JD's Caddy Build
Van-X glove box check before fitting.. I need to pick up a rivet gun from work! Or has anyone used a different method/screw to fit?
Read up that the latch is a bit flimsy on these so I’ll remember to be delicate when opening

Re: JD's Caddy Build
Thanks mate I don’t think a touran one is a straight fit unless you’ve swapped out the whole dash for a touran dash which would come with the glove box lid

Re: JD's Caddy Build
Swapped out the old for a new dash storage compartment with lid and bonnet insulation today. Both super easy to fit.

Have you noticed a change in engine volume since fitting the bonnet insulation?

Re: JD's Caddy Build
It is slightly quieter while inside the van but not a drastic change in the noise level. I searched on the forum to see if other people found a change with the insulation and a few had noticed it was quieter.

Re: JD's Caddy Build
After a long wait these finally arrived from eBay.. Need to figure out how to connect the aux port as it’s got an input for a RCD310 cable.. The USB port also seems to disconnect my apple car play connection after a minute or so but there’s still power.. So a little tweaking to do but at least they look better than blanks

Great progress mate. You’re flying through with the mods
Might be able to help on the CarPlay front. How did you connect originally to the head unit?

The head unit (Pioneer SPH-DA120) came with two USB input cables that plug into the rear as below.. I then got an adaptor usb cable to plug into the usb flip button and plugged that into the female head unit cable.. carplay worked fine when plugged directly into the female socket from the head unit so there must be some cut off in the switch or adapter cable. I might remove the back of the flip button and directly mount the head unit cable. Nothing is straight forward

adapter cable and button insert

Re: JD's Caddy Build
I had a similar problem with mine regarding CarPlay and it turned out the usb cable was in the wrong port on the back of the head unit. Iirc it has to be in port one to activate CarPlay

Re: JD's Caddy Build
Hopefully brooneyes solution will work. I found that CarPlay would drop out if using either usb extensions or cheap usb leads from the Headinit. I ended up buying a belkin usb lead which was only a couple of quid more than a cheapy. No problems since
