Re: Caddy R360 build thread
Finally on the home straight with this lid! Doc came up with the idea of a 'fuel cell' for the compressors to live in and it was always going to have a lid.
I was able to lift the front edge of alcantara inside the box and sink 3 screws in, then stuck the alcantara back down. A rare earth magnet was then sunk into the lid and that holds it shut (just!).

So hold on. you have to do it by hand. You don’t press a button and the LEDS turn on and dry ice comes out as the lid lifts.

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
Just because there's not enough carbon on this I've been working on a number plate plinth. Idea is to use static number plates front and rear that I got from - Static Show Plates (I've already been using one on the front and its great. Its reflective and can be legal size/font. Even though its technically not road legal I reckon I'll get away with it as at least I'm running something that looks legal to the police) and then when I peel off the rear one there will be this carbon plate with a R360 logo on it - obviously underneath the plate isn't very attractive with an indent and 2 screw holes so can't have no plate for shows and photos.
Made a plate using 2 pieces of carbon glued together and cut to size and then glued on a piece of black plastic behind it so I can countersink the screw holes and give it a slightly floating look.
This is mocked up with some wood screws to check alignment

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
Think I fancy 1 of these. Without the R360.

Sure I can sort something out for you! I need to fine tune the process slightly. I need to order a better sheet of carbon to start with.

Ok. When you done it. Let me know. Put 1 on the back. Think it’s a good idea. As I already have static plate on the front. Or would it look stupid putting just 1 bit of carbon on my van. ♂️ maybe.

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
It’s a slippery slope! And carbon looks great against white..........
But I like having the ability to peel off the static plate and there’s something there already. Makes shows and meets or even just photos easier.

Yeah that’s why I quite liked the idea of it. I couldn’t afford to carbon mate that’s for sure. I could probably get a carbon bumper cover. You could be the first to event a good rear splitter for the caddy 4. Can’t find anything.

Re: Caddy R360 build thread
I’m hoping to head in that direction. I’ve got a part that I plan on making for mine and the techniques would lend themselves to things like that. Always about time and I could spend months working on stuff that doesn’t quite work as I have in the past but hoping to use some more up to date methods to speed things up. Watch this space!
