Identifying your Caddy?

Post by Cheeseburger »

Hi, newbie alert!
Is there a 'Whats my Caddy?' thread somewhere? e.g. what year was the facelift? was there only one? with pics etc to help those not yet familiar with the differences in models etc

I have searched the forum but without success (for some reason the word "caddy' brings up lots of results ;) )

Heres my new acquisition, so for example, the front fogs are not wired and have obviously been added but was that with a bumper change or just cutouts?

Thanks in advance.

think someone needs to brush up on their caddy knowledge or maybe I'm just a geek.

mk1 caddy was 1979-1995 with chassis identifier "type 14"
mk2 caddy was 1995-2004 with chassis identifier 9K
The mk3 caddy has been around since 2004 to the present date with chassis identifier 2K.

The 2K in its original form was from 2004-2010.
The 2010-2015 facelift, while still on a 2K chassis was identified on official documents as 2C.
The 2015 onwards facelift of the 2K chassis is identified officially as "SA". VW branded this the Caddy4 even though it is in essence a second facelift on the mk3 chassis.

And 9U for the Mk2 Pickup / Skoda Felicia Pickup with a different badge on / Skaddy (Late 90's).

Always makes me laugh how VW sold two different vehicles at the same time with the same name on, and neither was a VW (one was a Seat Inca, the other was a Skoda Pickup).
Sorry chaps, much as our 2k looks nice, I prefer my Mk2. ;)

Do you know if the internal panels, internal decorators are compatible in 2014 version and 2017 ones? or they change it internally
