As far as I’m aware it’s to get all the functions out of the steering wheel,

My caddy is lin 2.0 but this wheel talks in lin 2.5 so it converts the signals

Didn’t try the wheel without the module I bought from spacewalker just fitted and installed the wheel, slight coding and all worked,

To avoid confusion regarding Jimbo's information on Spacewalker's MFSW module, there is no such thing as LIN 2.5 the module still operates on LIN 2.0 but instead interprets messages from the new wheel that the older original VW module cannot and translates to the older message to suit the vehicle.
