Re: What did you do to your van today?
Paid a visit to Skipton car radio today and had my Maxi life speakers upgraded. Or should I say my cheap paper attached bits of metal taken out
Got a Mac audio setup put in and found out that the rears on a maxi life do not use the industry standard fitting plate shape. The guys at SCR still managed to sort it out
Also got to talking about possible black headliner with led lighting

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@ste_j if you don’t mind me asking, how much was it for your speaker upgrade?
Black headlining is a good mod
Need to do the trims as well really though.
Been there, done that

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@DW2207 vans looking nice lowered. I was thinking of putting the same alloys on mine and lowering it. I also need to replace my drop links and the front rear wishbone bushes on mine.
Once I sort out my clutch problem.
Did you replace the whole arm? As I was thinking of just replacing the bushes with poly bushes from powerflex.
How is the stance kit holding out?

I replaced the whole lower wishbone arm as this seemed more economical than swapping out for aftermarket bushes.
Again drop links where replaced as a complete brand new pair.
I'm finding the stance kit as a really good cheap mod to this year of van without breaking the bank. Ride with the newer components is much more solid yet retains a nice level of comfort that is not to crashy I think.
However it does need a bit more lifting at the front as this van is used solely for my angling needs. I get a bit of scrapping on certain tracks and the front mud gaurds are taking the blunt of this.
As for the alloys I wanted to keep these in theme with the year of this van as I really like the design of them. With the lowering of the van they looked a little bit withdrawn in the arches but 15mm bimecc spacers as this sorted right out.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@Papa Bear £325 mate
Mac audio blk front speaker kit and Mac audio street mobile 6x4 rears
I reckon the kit would be around 200 and they do offer a supply only option but I’d seen lots of really good feedback on the quality of their installs.
That rear would have caused a head scratcher if I had bought as a kit. To combat it they foam wrapped around the speaker coil and secured into the plastic albeit not being able to use the original screw holes.
Makes a huge difference
And yeah I did wonder about the A frames and stuff for the roof lining. I’ve seen a couple done recently on a fb group and even with the white A’s the dark head lining still looks great

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@ste_j thanks, was it just speaker upgrade? Good difference?
I dyed my headlining with black autobrite and painted my trims with anthracite bumper paint. Lasting well even on the handles and sun visors. Only one scratch in the back where step son jammed a piece of wood in

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@DW2207 thank you for the information.
I did look at the v maxx kit but I am wondering if the price would be worth the money. Stance kit seems to be the best value.
I use the van for work so don't want it too low. Just low enough with a decent set of alloys. And improve the handling.
Hopefully get it all done soon.
Thanks again

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@Papa Bear. Yes mate just the speakers. Driver and passenger door, dash tweeters and rear speakers
And huge difference both music and phone quality. The stock rears are shocking quality when you see them out. My front drivers door speaker was already shot and from new the van has only been on the road 6 months
I’d say it’s a worthwhile upgrade
