Alloy Wheel Size Guide
Hi All,
I am sorry if this question has been asked before, but cant find the specific information when using the search.
I want to buy some alloys for my recently purchased 2008 1.9tdi caddy, but really want the ride to stay as standard as possible.
Would really appreciate a guide on what would be suitable for either 16, 17 or 18" rims, in terms of ETx, rim width etc.
Also if you know of any particular other vw models that will fit perfectly.
I really want genuine vw wheels.
Thanks

Re: Alloy Wheel Size Guide
Anything in the VAG range with the bolt pattern 5x112 will fit. All wheels up to 20" will fit, just, but most fit 18" or 19" max for comfort. Safest width is 8" but 8.5" will also fit comfortably with 9" being ET dependant. ET should be 48 I think but even on a 8.5" wheel, others have managed to fit lower ET wheels, but nothing lower than [someone else will need to confirm this but think its 35 on 8"].

If the et is 35 what does the figure signify?

Re: Alloy Wheel Size Guide
It tells you how far the mounting surface of the wheel is relative to its centre line, which determines how far in or out the wheel will sit when mounted on the car.
The bigger the number, the further inboard the wheel will sit. This is a handy link to the wheel offset calculator:

Re: Alloy Wheel Size Guide
now that is handy!
I've got a set of 20" Audi S5 wheels in the garage... I wonder how ridiculous those would look on it

Re: Alloy Wheel Size Guide
Sorry if its an old post but Im just getting a 2015 Caddy maxi next week. Its the 2010-2015 version. I want to order some 18" or 19" alloys for it. I just wondered if anyone knew what fitments I would need to look for for them to fit without any issues?

Re: Alloy Wheel Size Guide
I thought the original question was for the previous version as it was 2008 or is the next gen the same set up as far as alloys go?

Re: Alloy Wheel Size Guide
All generations including the latest gen 4 are identical in chassis so wheels will work for all.

I have standard steel's looking to jump to this spec.
225/45/17
ET47 - 8J
Have been led to suggest clearance issues on full lock. Van is running standard ride height.
