Caddy maxi life conversion

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a caddy maxi life and am planning on converting it into a camper. I’m just wondering if anyone has removed the side panels from the inside rear (The big bulky bits with cup holders and stuff in it) before I start ripping it about and regret it!

Did my RHS panel so far ...

SWB Caddy Life
Carpeted, covered side area panel with Hexa Grip Ply,
and boxed the arch with same.
Plus air exhaust vent grill.

Same as mine, just a bit longer in the Maxi !

Pry tools to loosen the clips. I started from bottom rear, remove the D-ring and trim first, and worked up and forward ...

I think there may be a screw or two ???
Can't remember.

Was it easy to do? I’m nervous to do it in case i mess it up and regret doing it. But it’ll give so much more useable room.

Also, are you boarding the floor where the recess is?

Keeping the lowered floor, so much better with the extra headroom for my old back !

Not difficult, but the odd clip tends to break if you ever want to refit. It all pops off pretty easily if I remember correctly

Haha that’s a good idea!

My plan is to board the recess over and use it for storage.

I’ll have a go at removing the panelling, you’ve given me confidence!
