Re: Reflex Silver Caddy (66)
Took the side bars off the van as they were getting a bit tatty and needed a fresh powder coat. However, I also no longer liked the look of them.
I know the most common addition for the side skirt/trim tends to be the Audi A5 trims.
But thought I'd try something different. So purchased the Maxton Design Side Skirts.
New grommet's fitted after removing the side bars.
Holding everything in place. The skirts come with self drilling screws. But I really didn't want to drill into the vans sills, so just used some Tiger Seal. Hopefully it will hold them

Re: Reflex Silver Caddy (66)
Alterations to the front door panels
Before
Hot iron to remove the center pieces
Gti cloth stuck down. Charcoal Grey Suede on the arm rest
Plastic weld the parts back in
Finished
Unfortunately the arm rest wasn't as dark a colour as I'd wished. The only darker colour was black and didn't want black. Other colour was Light Grey which I also didn't want. Thought the Charcoal would be dark enough. Although they do look lighter than they actually are in the photo.

That is looking good. Maybe a real alcantara would be an option, shape is not that complicated so still should be easy to cover

Re: Reflex Silver Caddy (66)
Couple of little changes lately.
Firstly, a speaker upgrade with some door panel sound deadening. Nothing over the top with sound deadening. But enough to make a difference.
Original Speaker
New
New harness for the tweeters as my van didn't come with factory fit ones.
VIBE foam back wave diffuser.
2 x 6.5” VIBE speakers. WRMS – 90 W, 270W peak & Impedance – 4 Ohm
Makes a huge difference. Surprised I never done this earlier.
Also did a good bit of sound deadening on the actual door trim.

Onto the next one.
Footwell lighting.
Purchased from Stan the Man.
Red ambient lighting while driving, white light when stopped/doors open etc.
The new lights and loom
Original wiring loom out
Wiring in
Finished (after some VCDS coding)
Sorry for the photo spam

I've bought off Stan before, never knew he did that kit though.

Re: Reflex Silver Caddy (66)
I've put buying these dash trims off for 3 year. Just always thought they were way over priced.
Most people tend to quote the part numbers 2K6858066B TW6 & 2K6858065B TW6. These are the cortina silver ones which are the more expensive ones.
After searching I found the Titanium ones are a bit cheaper. By about £100
Part Numbers 2K6858066C LS1 & 2K6858065C LS1
Plus this colour matches the van a bit. The original plan was to paint them black. But as you can see, fitted as they were. I'll see how I like for a few week before making final decision.

Re: Reflex Silver Caddy (66)
Those are some good looking dash trims!
People usually fit the ones off a Highline spec I think.
Do they do the trim on the door cards to match the different dash trims you've fitted?

Dash trims are usually the cortina silver colour that is generally seen on the Caddy Life.
No, as far as I'm aware there is no trims to go on the door panels. I've had my door panels off a few times and there isn't anything for trims to clip onto. I've made my own by putting scrim backed suede and GTi cloth on for a better less plasticy (not a word but fits ) look

I dig it. It's different.
I like the dashtop compartment too.
Is yours a LHD unit on a RHD dashboard?

Re: Reflex Silver Caddy (66)
RHD.
I made the lid myself. Just used MDF and then plenty of filler to shape. Then vinyl wrapped it.
It doesn't have a hinge to open and is just held in place using 3M tape. However the wood has warped a little since first fitting. So will either do it again or try adding a support underneath to prevent it bending and reshape/wrap it.

Re: Reflex Silver Caddy (66)
Ah that explain why the fit appears better than the LHD unit in a RHD dash.
Thanks for clearing that up.
