First a few words about my Caddy.
His name is Greg and that came along because Greg or Gregory, in Greek (Γρηγόρης) kinda translates into "the fast one". Therefore, since my Caddy is the slowest car I have ever owned, I thought it would be Ironic if I called him Greg.
I bought this Greg in March 2022 from a Doctor who also owned a T5 California and a MK5 GTI with 80k km on it and full history together with receipts and logs. The only blemish was a huge dent in it's right hand side.
My plan was to turn it into a mini camper, just like alot of people before me.
I started designing it in CAD after I took a 3d scan of the interior with my iPhone.
After trying to reduce the cost as much as possible I ended up with a box frame with one open storage compartment and one drawer.
I went through many iterations including the below one.
The storage compartment holds chairs and a camping table and the drawer has a portable cooker and extra storage.
Then I chopped up a mattress and made a insert for the foldable bed.

I am planning on refining the design for what I believe to be the cheapest Camper box for a 2K Caddy.
I will put together a CAD file and a pricelist if I see any interest and I will keep updating this post as I go on.
