Re: Swan’s caddy build
So last night, I was looking on eBay after a few cans of beer and I came across a decent set of mk7.5 tartan Golf GTI seats for £530. I asked if he’d sell the fronts only and would he take £380 and he did. Quick run to Oldham this morning, picked up and now they’re fitted! I’ve been looking at a set for a while but couldn’t justify the £5/600 prices I’d seen.
Anyway, I’m well happy and they’re very comfortable too.

Thanks Colin. They were a real impulse buy! EBay and beer + caddy = expensive!

Swan’s caddy build
Looking Good Pete, the vans getting well and truly spoilt at the minute (keep up the beer and internet surfing ). The seat heating will certainly be beneficial at the moment if you’ve got it connected up?

Swan’s caddy build
Cheers lads. Yeah I’ve been spoiling the van lately. I’m really happy with how it’s turning out so far.
@Lister79 I did see what looks like heating wiring but wasn’t sure. They’re not wired up yet, it’s something I may do in future though.

Re: Swan’s caddy build
Just looking at your build thread Chris, and you mentioned removing the dash to put your heated seat looms in…..I’m thinking of a Touran dash conversion at some point so makes sense to do that in one hit….
Where does the loom need to routed? Obviously from the control panel to the fuse box, and from controller to seats? Did you have to go into one of the BCM plugs also?

Re: Swan’s caddy build
I removed the dash so I could follow the factory routing, I believe it is possible without removing the dash.
If I remember right the connector points are the earth points on both sills, obviously seats, heater control unit, BCM and fuse box C which are both below the steering wheel. Very easy to do and the loom I got came with full instructions which was handy.

Re: Swan’s caddy build
Cheers Chris. That makes sense. I’m also considering Touran carpets/doorcards too. So I think I’ll plan the heated seat loom install when the cab is stripped.
Thanks for the advice mate

Cheers Sean. I’m made up with them. I’m being careful getting in and out so as I don’t damage the bolsters. I saw loads on eBay that were wrecked.

Ha! I’m very careful when I’ve got my cargo shorts on, as the back pocket button catches my seat….!
