Made a start on the Touran electric window conversion. Got the passenger side done, but rain stopped play mid way through the drivers door, hopefully I can get it finished tomorrow.

Finished off the electric window conversion and got VERY worried when the van wouldn't lock and pressing the unlock button sent it into a lock/unlock frenzy
Then I found Doc's excellent DCM wiring thread and managed to figure it out. Everything now works perfectly!

Today I fitted an upgrade to rear cab light by fitting two led strip lights. connected to the original centre switch. These now work on the tailgate opening as well. I can now see where everything is.

Found the passenger footwell full of water so the search for the source of the leak starts!!!
Also found the roof of in the rear had warped & when removed that found the sound deadening dripping with condensation!! Are these connected or separate leaks??

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@Sharkster, it could be buddy.
I am not an expert on anything like this.
So thinking logically here, me personally I would remove the flooring in the drivers cab.
Maybe get an hose pipe or watering can on the front windscreen to see if any water is seeping through a seam perhaps.
Check the scuttle area as these can clog up with detritus of leaves and dirt. Make sure the drain holes are clear.
I'd be inclined to drive around for a few weeks, if you wash your own van, check after and see if there is a trail of water getting to the front.
I am not sure if there are any bungs that could be missing in the floor and side well for wheel.
And all means look at the area where you noticed the damp insulation to see if it's a trail from there mate.
A bit long winded but trying to get across what I'd do if I had this, because water damage can be an absolute arse.

^^ This, the scuttle drains would be my first guess, also check the roof rail bolts are tight, if not they can let water in.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Some total c**tstain keyed my van last night; good swipe down the drivers side. A lot of sad, pathetic dickheads in this country!
Been trying to polish it out, but only got manual methods. May have to break out the 2000 wet/dry.
Bollocks!

If 2000 doesn’t touch it try 1500 but be careful as you don’t want to break through the clearcoat.
Sorry to hear that dude. Some people just need shooting.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@Dislexicdonkey Cheers man! I’d pay good money to know who done it!
Ended up having a skinful last night to drown my sorrows so hanging today, just to add to the pain.
Gonna have a proper look at it at the weekend, only just catches your nail so hopefully get it out ok. Not very experienced with this sort of thing so will just go easy on it and call in the pros if I don’t succeed.
