Vag Com
Hi all ,
As a noob and reading most of the build threads the common link is coding out items to get them to work, using Vag Com ( if this is the right prog to do it). Right after a bit of waffle where do I get it from and can I load it onto my laptop, left this a bit vague for obvious reasons and as I don’t have full access I thought I would ask here.
Thanks in advance
Jase

Re: Vag Com
Check out Ross-Tech for information on their VCDS system (formally VAGcom).
The system is made up of an interface dongle to connect your computer to your vehicle and a free download software.
There are different versions available depending on your requirements.

Re: Vag Com
Thanks Doc for the fast reply, need to look into the cost as I might save my money and spend it on the caddy rather than me screw something up

@Jase14
Depends how long you plan to own your caddy/ VAG group cars.
a diagnostic for a dashboard light will cost £60 unless you have someone else with diagnostic tools.
they pay for themselves very quickly, then become invaluable if you do upgrades.
So maybe 'when' you have an issue is time to go for an official rosstech dongle fro gendan.

Re: Vag Com
Is vagcom the same as vcds, I have the Ross tech lead and software, I need to revise my rear lights facelift ones on 2011 maxi?

Re: Vag Com
Vagcom was the vcds predecessor.
It stands for Vag Com Diagnostic System but used to just be called vag com.
It's basically the same thing.
