Beluga blue caddy remapped to 145ish side window deflector lowered and 18" calibre rims on 225/40/18 Custom exhaust
Fit my new pioneer SPH 250DAB radio, then started fitting all the random plastic vents and parts that were missing from the interior.
Next jobs are new steering wheel and sort the oil leak out!
Ordered a brand new injector and stretch bolt to sit in the car just incase one goes down as it’s a 1.6. Happy with the van though it’s loads better than a car and very useful having the seats that can be pulled out quickly!
Fitted an upgraded interior light (the one next to the rear view mirror) today. Since the Passat W8 model is expensive and involves some faffing about with custom wiring looms, I opted for a second-hand 3B0 947 105 C which is the Touran model with two reading light bulbs. The additional lights weren't important to me. The main benefit is the hands-free microphone slot and grille.
In the past week, I also did some rust repair on the boot lid and replaced all the number plate light wires with new ones since the original cables were all stiff and corroded. The LED lights in the panel are now directly soldered in as well.
Added cruise control to my car thanks to the guide in the How To section here I had to shop around with my local breakers for this upgrade to cost just 45 euros (30 for a Midline control module and 15 for the stalk). While at it, I also fitted a wiper stalk with trip computer buttons in preparation for a Midline or Highline Touran instrument cluster. CC works, but the ESP light has not turned off (steering angle sensor fault) and the steering wheel brains complain about an incorrect module which could be the upgraded wiper stalk conflicting with the Lowline clocks.
Began to black out and suede wrap a few interior parts. Dashboard end trims, fuse box cover, gear stick surround trim was a fight to wrap but got it done with one piece and happy with how it looks and eager to do the rest
Silver Maxi Kombi - Not a Show Van
Far From Perfect, Perfect From Far
Broke a fuel return nozzle and an injector clamp trying to remove a failed 1.6 injector. The injector had seized in there and even compression wouldn't make it budge, so it was WD40 and mole grips. I haven't had the best of days.
Fit my new MFSW I got off eBay for £80 it’s a little worn so ordered a refurb kit for it. But happy with it and the buttons work the pioneer head unit too! The interior of the van looks tidy now, just got to do something with the exterior.
