Did the MK5 subframe bolt straight up? If not, what modifications are required for it to fit?

Looking to fit these style stalks into my van, do you know what was swapped around to get the cruise control side working?ToiletTFSI wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 11:09 pm Having seen the posts on here about the mk7 golf stalks mod… I didn’t think those stalks came with cruise… turns out they did on certain cars - thanks to Doc.

Having sent stalk master tech Giddy a pm, he agreed to work his magic again and reverse engineer them to see if it can work like the trip/wiper side. Looks like this is all doable and they are back with me having been converted! A little off being able to test them yet! Big thanks to Giddy for that one!

Engine is now in and complete. Wiring complete, just needs a base map to run more than just moving it round…
Still a lot of finishing to do, but it’s in and running.
Huge thank you to Doc… it simply wouldn’t my have happened without his genius!

Re: Toilet TFSI - Caddy4
Then onto the rear suspension - the old caddy being on air ride with a 4link and watts links set up, I was keen to have the rear setup right… and tight.
Weld on flip kit instead of shackles…
Which involved reversing the leak peg - which involved matching a new peg and welding it in.
Black race polly bushes installed:
To keep the rear beam central and zero wobble, I designed and made a panhard bar set up.
When on the floor it sits almost horizontal- happy with its position.
Then everything bolted on…

Calipers in for a colour change to satin silver all round…
Brake set up is:
Vbt front Ap racing 4pot radical with twin bell and rotar.
Rear vbt vented r32 Caliper with their 345mm (I think) twin bell and rotor setup.

Tyres fitted and tear fit on the caddy..
And they look huge! No rubbing or touching anywhere but then it isn’t lowered to where I want it yet…

Re: Toilet TFSI - Caddy4
Then I found a tailgate (which I have always wanted) at a breakers - which they let me remove it and everything needed for it!
Then the tricky part of cutting the areas needed to mount.
I wasn’t keen on fitting a whole replacement panel which would mean drilling the rivets. Peeling the roof back etc. so I settled on cutting the whole that’s there on the tailgate vans and 3d printing some covers to keep it water tight.
Under seal just sprayed to keep rust at bay before painting - easy to remove with panel wipe/thinners.
3d printed covers:
To spoiler or not to….
Also realised that with the tyres I have gone for, I need to add a touch of camber to the rear. Which on calculating it will match the front camber perfectly.

Re: Toilet TFSI - Caddy4
Before and after centralising the rear beam - needs another slight adjustment before I am happy.
After:
As you can see - camber needed.

Was never happy with the grey…
Time for a strip down and make the place look like a crime scene…
Almost ready for paint - last of the polymask to on on the walls… and last part of masking off the caddy:
