Re: What did you do to your van today?
Today I started to remove the Chavvy massive sun strip which was the only grey thing on the caddy. Removed the previous owners attempt at a bulkhead and his wiring for his sound system which has been fully removed (was a fire hazard not seen wiring like that in years all twined together, no connectors or tape etc)

Must admit it's my new favourite. Shame I didn't take one portrait as it won't go on my phone as a wallpaper

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Ive no idea about mechanics or electrical stuff, but I want to learn how to look after my van better. It’s an ex BG one that I’ve had for 5 years.
So I was inspired by some posts and fitted bonnet insulation. Hopefully it’ll help make the van a bit quieter. I’m looking to get an engine cover next month after payday.
Thanks to everyone that takes the time to share, I look forward to getting access to the technical area so I can try and fix my flashing led lights in the cargo area!

@caddychris2002
That bumper actually really suits the caddy van, sorry I'm a newbie so can't access all the site yet but briefly, was that lots of work to fit or fairly straight forward?

Re: What did you do to your van today?
They aren't easy to make and fit well. I use Alan at Crafted Automotive in Cleckheaton. Van exterior was pretty much how I bought it. A particularly well known chap on Instagram built it and unfortunately not to a great standard. It got knocked at a petrol station and the bumper split from one end to the other on the joint. We took some pictures of the previous bumper when it was removed and it wasn't pretty.PeakyPaul wrote:@caddychris2002

I asked Alan to make new bumpers front and rear and do it right. Wasn't cheap but worth every penny for it to be done right.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Thanks for all the details, much appreciated and sounds like you had a bit of a job on your hands! Not sure I'm ready to get that involved yet as I want to upgrade the steering wheel and seats as first jobscaddychris2002 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 4:17 pm They aren't easy to make and fit well. Prosport coilovers with new top mounts
Flipped axle but left on std rear plates
Audi wheels 18”
New front ball joints
Creation motorsport billet boost hose connector as worn out hose was causing boost leak
Fixed oil pressure switch wiring as it pulled out the connector
6 rear led interior lights
MOT
Serviced and new sump

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Installed reverse camera, DAB aerial, microphone for head unit, and peeled the ugly old wrap off exposing a pristine stock silver paint. Gonna peel the roof this afternoon lying on top of a forklift, gonna be interesting hehe

Re: What did you do to your van today?
I will take some & post in a few days. i've just dropped it off to a garage to find a knock coming from the front suspension & to install undertray as I don't have a ramp & don't like getting my hands dirty lol. I don't mind electrical work & inside cars but i'm better suited to a desk
Thanks. I have lots of other stuff too but they are the ones in-use on a regular basis. I blame my parents for buying me matchbox toy cars when i was a child; now im a man child, the same toys just get bigger & more expensive
