Top mount (can see ball bearings!)

Post by cste3361 »

Can anyone explain what’s happened here? New front suspension only fitted a month ago. Notice loud metallic knocking when full lock and driving slowly. Just had a look up into the wheel arch and seen this. Looks like the spring isn’t seated correctly??

Is that the top mount toasted now?

Looks like that top mount bearing is upside down. I'm sure the bearing race should be above the spring seat to take the weight.
