Rear flooring questions caddy swb

Post by dontknowz »

Hi im converting the inside of my van at the end of the month and i don’t have the original ply lining for the floor anymore as it was rotten and came up in pieces when i removed it, i need to make a template basically and i have started with a card board one but it just isn’t how i want it. Has anyone tried the floor matts off eBay? If so do they fit well enough to use that as a template. Hoping to get some advice before i go ordering something that isn’t right

This is the mat Im on about

Maybe you’re wanting to do it yourself or to save money. But you can find pre cut ply sheets on ebay for around £100

Yeah I’ve seen them my issue is i don’t want it in two pieces and its alot to spend for a template but that mat is like 1/4 of the price

you need a 5” x10” sheet to get the floor in one piece, i glued my 2 pieces together(12mm ply) using a biscuit cutter, solid as a rock

Have you got an update on what you did ? I’m in the same situation was going to buy the same mat and cut round some ply but feel if I order the £120 one of eBay it will be more professional fit but a lot of money for some cut ply

That one i ordered for like £26 was fine slightly too wide at the arches but ive just kept triming the ply until im happy with it id recommend getting it has made the rest of it super easy rather than taking a day trying to make a cardboard template
