MK3 Head Unit

Post by Joey F »

Got a 2014 maxi, the head unit is standard factory fit. The AUX input doesn't work. Want to change it to a screen unit for Android. Anyone got first hand experience of say an RCD 360 Pro that isnt an £85 jobbie on eBay that kills batteries, not the other end of nearly £400. Unbelievable how many of these unit exist with huge price difference??

So there's a couple of websites (not Facebook sellers with 3 months warranty 🤦) priced around £275.....would this be the type that kill batteries or safe to buy?
Cheers for any help

I got a unit off Moody YSM on Facebook (he pops up often on the groups) and while it might not be the best, he really has been above and beyond with help and info. Anytime I had a question couldn't have been more decent with being helpful.

I even thought I had an issue with the unit (turned out to be a bad tweeter) but again he was willing to sort it out with help / replacement.

https://www.rcd330.co.uk/ looks good too.

I bought one from RDC330.co.uk in November and it’s been brilliant.
From what I gather it’s a genuine VW unit for European markets?
It boots instantly, is very OEM and perfect with CarPlay etc.
also upgraded my door speakers to some units from Crown Customs and they are doing well.
