@stu_b used the front two existing holes and drilled two new ones at the back of the base mate, then got a loom made from tommyzooom for the electric lumber + heating

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Excuse my ignorance
But if u drill the rail does that mean it's fixed in place or still able to slide to taller / shorter people
Would this cause a problem for insurance or in the even of a crash ?
Also, what did the loom connect into for that to work, did u have to add something at the receiving end ?

The rail is fixed to the base, so the seat can still slide along it, just relocating the fixing, the loom for the heated seats runs to the dashboard and to the heating controls

Do u have to have climatic air or anything special for the loom to hook into in the heater controls ?

Re: What did you do to your van today?
For heated seats you need
1. Heated Seats
2. Heated seat controller (under LHS seat or elsewhere in the cabin depending on donor vehicle) this may come with the heated seats or need to be bought separately.
3. Heater control panel with heated seat buttons (a version of your current control panel)
4. Cable loom to wire up the heated seats - Connects all parts together and provides power. Form depends on where the Heated Seat Controller is. tommyzooom or stan-the-man for looms to your spec Caddy and seat ...
5. VCDS or OBDEleven to code.
I think that's it

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Since I joined today, I read that it was possible to use engine covers from other models with the same engines. Found myself a piece at a local scrapyard and now it’s in place!

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Carpeted the roof liner card in black like the other (rear) door cards.
Installed a dashcam (Viofo A129 Plus Duo) using the hardwire kit to the fusebox. Discovered halfway through the install that the 6 meter cable for the rear camera would not have sufficed if I had routed it through the floor side trim.Problem solved by routing it under the parcel shelf over the driver and then under the roof card.

Removed the roof rails.

Now it desperately needs lowering!
