Caddy IV 4motion lift kit with TÜV?

Post by Gustav_Nor »

I'm looking to lift my Caddy to get more ground clearance. Is there a lift kit which fits the Caddy IV 4motion that also has TÜV papers? (without the papers I risk having to remove the lift kit at road safety inspection in Norway)

I see Seikel has a kit. But it's expensive and only lifts 5 mm in rear and 15mm in front.

Pretty sure Eibach kits are all TÜV certified.

Ooh the good TüV.

Please be careful as not all kits have the papers even if other kits from the same maker do.

For example my springs were bought without TüV but could be bought also with TüV.

When playing with the Minis when I lived in Germany I could buy two different exhausts that were actually the same. But one that came with the papers was about twice the cost.

If you are buying from the UK please make sure the seller can provide the correct paperwork.

Any reason why the cheaper lift kits that keep the original springs and shocks wouldn't work on a 4Motion? The one's that simply use spacers like this:

https://risingtuning.com/lift-kits/product-4525

I've messaged that company this morning, but not heard back yet.

Yes — there are lift kits available for the Caddy IV 4Motion that come with TÜV parts certificates, meaning they’re designed to be road-legal in countries that recognise TÜV approval. For example, some aftermarket lift kits raise the body a small amount (e.g., ~15 mm front and ~5 mm rear) and include the TÜV certificate so you can get them registered without issues.

There are also spacer-style lift kits (e.g., from SPACCER) that fit between the springs/struts and include TÜV test certificates, letting you incrementally raise the vehicle while staying compliant.

Just keep in mind that adding lift can put extra strain on components like drive shafts and may affect handling or warranty, so it’s worth checking the exact specs for your model before you buy or install.
