Thanks Giddy, I realised you mods can't approve people to have full access (only Doc can do that) but I take it none of you know him personally or have any idea if he is ever coming back?

Someone must be renewing the domain name registration as it was recently done in June, so who was that? They must know what's going on but maybe a family member or friend of his and they don't comment on here I expect.

did anyone think to maybe drop him a message on Instagram just to check he was OK or what was happening i know it might sound a bit intrusive or maybe a a bit ignorant. But he doesn't sound like the kinda person to build this forum to let it just let it go to waste or forget about it. after putting in all the hard work and keeping it live.

Ah interesting, I'd assumed my comment on the thread asking for 5+ post access had been missed. Was looking forward to getting into the members sections as there are a couple of things I'm holding off doing until I have a bit more info.

Would be sad if all of that info is lost to new members, that's the main reason why I come to forums instead of Facebook and the like.

Facebook is full of comedians and Muppets. None of them know anything so I don't know why people still post questions there. All you get is nonsense or cheeky comments.

The owner went missing over a year ago so it's unlikely he will return (unless he gets early release/ resurrected/ found) but there are plenty of knowledgeable people here regardless.

There is not many dedicated forums for caddys unfortunately. I will say there are a few caddy groups that I joined with my mk5 that ain't to bad.
Granted, you will not get many how to's but it does not stop you being polite and possibly putting some snippets of info in and there to help others out.

100% true.

The VW groups, seem especially bad!

I've left quite a few, because muppets reply with totally incorrect advice and people run with it and thank them! Some groups I was would have answers like "I had a similar fault, that was the EGR" and the post is about ABS or something  ... mindboggling.

I am not sure why a lot of this is private. I wanted to see the heated seat stuff and can't view any of it. It does seem a lot of members are having issues which is a shame for such a valuable resource.

You can't, until the owner returns and he's been missing for over a year. No one knows what's happened and no one else can approve your access.

Give me the links to the threads you need and an email address and I'll see what I can do.

Guys, I want to sell my steering wheel but I am not authorized to use classified sections. Do you think it is fine to post into the Caddy chat? Or maybe utilize my own Caddy thread for the purpose? And am I even able to receive PMs when I do not have permission to send them?
Never really planned to mod my Caddy until I found this forum

I can't encourage you to break the forum's rules but given the quality of your posts, if I was a moderator, I wouldn't delete your post just because it's not in the right section (given the circumstances).
And no, you won't have access to PM's.
