Subtle Lowering

Post by concept »

As my van will be work and personal, I can't go too low.

Are there any recommended set ups for a bit of lws without rubbing, banging etc.

Too old for all that stuff now!

Googled it and it doesn't look reasonably priced, especially as fitting on top.

Looks like I will have to remain old and comfy.

Hi, I'm running the Darkside rear kit on its highest setting with H&R front springs (-40mm). The drop is subtle but noticable when compared to stock.

I've not changed the rear or front shocks and it runs fine, just a lot better to drive and doesnt dive or roll in corners. It also dosen't gound out on speedbumps (yet).

H&Rs come in at 70 or so quid and the Darkside kit on top. Well worth it IMO.

I've just fitted the darkside extra low axle flip kit
Good kit a bit fiddley to do on your own but got the hang of it
Got mine on the highest setting and she quite a bit lower than original in that format
15" wheels axle flip dropped probably 2inches from standard but kit on highest setting

As you can see the front now sits a bit higher than the rear
Fronts to sort ASAP not sure on springs only or coilovers
I may well get springs and cut 1/2 a loop off from the bottom estimate that will give it about a 60mm drop on the fronts to level up a bit better
45mm doesn't look quite enough to me with the flip kit

Hi, not got any pictures up yet but theres a guy with a nice Maxi on here (SAL) has done a similar thing and has pics. I think he's on KW -45s. If you search members he has a build thread. Will try and get some up next week of mine..

Looks a bit high at the front, but getting some ideas.

Must resist going back to my roots and slamming dubs!

I see you have the side bars and mud flaps, me too! I am also lowered in a practicle way. The rear I have no problem with but the front is. The bar brackets are at some stupid angle that sit very low to the ground and can sometimes catch. The flaps are a great aid to an early warning tho! I would be very interested to see how you get on with the front lowered. I love being lower than standard but don't want to lose my bars but need to be level or slightly lower at the front. I am seriously considering a bar adaptation of some sort.

Um interesting
I'd losses the bracket and see if u can push it up
What's the gap between sill and bar maybe take the bracket off and redrill a new hole to raise the bar
