Don't listen to them about the colour change. I think the van is gonna look awesome in the light blue with the V2 front end
Maybe it's just me, but that colour would even be near the top of my list for a colour change

I agree. I love the colour and i will save a colour change untill i ever buy a nasty coloured one.
I want to go the same way as my old mk4 and keep it simple with blue and black.

Thanks Doc.
As usual i probably wont have the funds to go mad with the interior but i already have some leather Touran door cards so i will have to swap the seats.
The rear of the van will be phase 2 once i've got the van on the road.
When the van is finished i am going to do an itemised list of part numbers and prices plus how much paint and labour to do the conversion so we can offer it as a service or at least you will know how much you would be looking to pay locally.
We are thinking of setting up "The Vw Caddy Shack" supplying parts, modifications, and maybe our own ready built vans to rival the Caddy Sportline.
Does anybody know if there is a "Caddy Shack" linked to the Volkswagen modifying scene
Was gonna ask if you could offer this service as work is spot on ill keep an eye on this one as my caddy needs a front end now

It is staying blue
I think he paid £1500 for it. Took two of them 2 days to do it. So much prepping and cleaning involved before they even start.

matt i think thats a fantastic idea wish we had somethin like that over here !
given the opportunity to go to a dealer and order a standard van or go to the caddy shack and buy one off the shelf or to order would be fantastic ! providing they would still come with dealer warranty etc ?

Well things have moved forward a bit this week.
I found some leather door cards on ebay and thought i would do a little trick that i did on my Mk4 Golf.
1st i used a belt sander to remove the points where the plastc welds are.
Then i flated to remove as much texture as possible
They will now be high build primed, then flatted, then painted body colour and will look something like this
The mirrors are ready for paint now. I am having the base gloss black along with the black trim to the rear of the glass.
The mirror covers will be blue.
We couldn't paint the van all in one go as it would have meant leaning over fresh paint when spraying the roof so we opted to order the paint pre mixed and paint it in bits.
So i now have the roof and most the panels painted and the rest of the van and remaining bits should be done next week.
This is how it looked when i left it earlier
R-line front lower grilles and fog lights on the way
R-Line rhd lights

Love the 'little' touches - door card detailing is trick! Those R-Line lights must have set you back! Looking very, very sweet Matt!
