Finally getting round to putting the sliding floor/drawer into the caddy... Had these runners laying from my Peugeot traveller and just not had time. All fastened down with M8 rivnuts. Now just to save money for the ply wood to make the actual thing ImageImageImage

Ha ha I wonder if they were intentionally taking the mick, yep GOOD GO but not quite good enough….

I take it the fit wasn’t right?

The only genuine OEM item was the VW paper bubble wrap bags the grilles came in :lol:

One was not sitting 100%, and they felt a bit brittle.

@pman1984
I used those exact runners to build a drawer into my caddy.
You my find you struggle to get the rearmost screws through the runner, into your (tray, drawer, bed)..
Hopefully its close enough to tailgate you will have clearance. I had to mount mine onto a false floor, then slide the whole unit into the caddy and bolt to the floor, or I couldn't secure runners at the back...

Did a whole bunch of sound deadening and thermal insulation. Here's a few snippets. You can see more images in my build thread.

replaced my broken rear window. not the best job sadly.
I got aftermarket glass from Vanpimps. Very good price, and very good quality..

I fitted the glass, only to find it sits slightly proud of the main barn door glass.... Then I notice, despite being a good fit... the vanpimps glass is almost twice the thickness of oem VW.

So, I'd highly recommend the glass, if replacing both barn doors.. I'll learn to live with it for now 👍

With these bumpers you need side skirts, van will look lower that way as well.

Have a nice showday!
