My first time doing car maintenance myself. Didn't exactly turn out as planned.
On the menu were rear brake pads, front brake discs, oil, spark plugs, fuel filter and brake fluid.

I managed to break off one of the plastic retainer clips that hold the fuel lines in place near the filter, VW doesn't sell the clips, only the lines, so thats at least 15 days wait to get the part from aliexp. Then I didn't pay attention and didn't see you needed a special tool to repress and twist the brake calipers in the rear brakes, and also managed to buy the wrong size brake discs. I thought I had the correct disc size from data from the brake pad, but apparently that info was wrong or there were multiple possibilities.

The oil and plugs were done by my brother, haven't been able to test them yet. There was not time left for the brake fluid.

All this took 4.5hours with 2 people, but at a leisure pace. On youtube it all looked so easy

@Foghorn. Fair play for giving it a go mate. It’s scary first time you do it. I’ll do basics only and I’ve made some mistakes in my time too!!

Replaced the barn door lock.
It kept setting off the alarm. Didn't know it had an alarm!

Full of water as predicted by caddy2k forum search.
Wrapped with self amalgamating rubber tape.

But where does the water come from?

Pulled it off and it's cracked.

Rear wheel bearings backing plates and new disks pads on caddy today ,slowly getting there

Been sometime since iv posted anything on here about the van as life been to busy this summer but iv manage to make a start on stripping the back out clean it all painting any bare metal put the sound block in and the thermal acoustic foam . I also managed to make a cover for where a step would be if I had a left hand sliding door fit.
Hopefully be able to get more done next weekend
