Only bought the caddy from Cannock on Saturday. Had cruise put on but its not working. Says it is via Vcds but am sure if a sticking rear brake that maybe causing it to not work.
So today I'll be taking the wheel off to check!!

Re: What did you do to your van today?
I bought a new towing eye for my Mk4 Caddy Life, part no 1T0 805 615 A, for £13:80 from Amazon.
The local VW Van Centre wanted just over £40 if I bought from them! They wouldn't give me the part number either
.
I'm sure I could get one cheaper from e-Bay, but that's a bit like a gambling website these days
and I couldn't be bothered trawling scrappies, so I'm very happy.

Stupidly took my van in to the wrong garage this morning. Wasn't with it. Too cold for me.
See if they can suss out the diesel smell, brake binding or wheel bearing plus why the cruise control doesn't work. Had a cold 5 mile walk back

Well… you know what… I couldn’t resist…

Bought a DSG box and ancillaries today and somehow ended up with an engine too!

And picked up a spare CECM, level controller and the front level sensor. Back one still to come.

What did you do to your van today?
So let me guess Colin. You’re going to put your new vr6 in the back and connect it to the rear wheels?
I reckon it’s half a days work…..you can thank me later!

On a serious note, I’ve seen it done in a few golf’s!

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Haha Pete, it crossed my mind and then I realised it would be way beyond me and I’d have nowhere to pit my bike!
Looking to swap out my R32 unit with this one, run it for a bit while I recondition mine and then refit mine with the DSG and sell the other one complete (engine, box, drive shafts and ECU)

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@ Doc, I’ve never seen the caddy before, I have seen the baby blue golf, it was a max power cover car from years ago.
Sounds like a worthwhile project Colin. A decent recon will guarantee reliability for many years to come.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Pretty sure the Golf was done at Dubsport up near me in Wigan. He’s done a few, he did the green mk1 as well that was plastered all over max power magizine and I had the poster on my wall as a young teenager
. Dubsport has long since gone though.

Was that the baby blue one Dean? I’m pretty sure I saw that on the road up my way a few times back in the day. I heard it before I saw it if it was the same one, never got a chance to catch up to see as I was in a 1.1 Saxo at the time!

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Theres was a mk3 baby blue golf and I think there was also a mk2 that started out as baby blue before getting sprayed mint green. There was also an orange mk1 but I’m not sure if he was responsible for that. Some great looking cars back in the day but apparently they handled like pigs

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Picked up a little winter refurb project
. I know they need adaptors but I'll sort them when the wheels are ready to fit.
