Re: Orange series
Nah Hedge, it was a 10 minute job and I used an old air deflector plate from an old air cooler motor. Drilled 4 holes, slotted one and welded 2 nuts on the rear of the 2 mounting holes for the rail.
I went in with an open mind and it all went together easy. I guess I should pull the rail off and take some proper pics of it with dimensions. See how all these Golf jobs go this week!

Re: Orange series
Did you mount i behind the stainless rail?
I've been looking at it for a while, wondering how to approach it without fouling anything else in that area.
Was gonna get some made up in stainless, I'm own a favour from a guy in that industry.

Re: Orange series
Yes, I mounted it behind the rail.
Stainless would be good but you dont see it, even with the door open. Would weather better though I guess.
We dont have a rust problem so much down here.
Cheers,
Andrew

I luv orange cars! If I could afford an Aston I'd get one in the brightest orange possible! Just a shame my Maxi is Surf Blue - I guess I could add some complimentery orange highlights!

Re: Orange series
Thanks heaps people,
been a loooong time since I have been on here, been busy with a trip to Germany (its a big deal from Australia!!)went to Wolfsburg and did the full factory tour, got home and ordered a new Mk6 Golf GTI, its turned up at last and have been modifying it.
The Caddy is still pristine, I travel 1000km,s a week these days so it cops a good run daily, the golf? Well it doesnt get used a great deal!
I will post some pics shortly of a couple of minor things I have done with it.
I love it still!
Cheers, Andrew

gogsie wrote:Very nice, what mae are the 5 spoke rims in the first set of pics?
The wheels are Karthoms, genuine golf accessories. I only had the BBs wheels on it for a show a couple of years ago.
The 5 spoke ones suit it better and the BBS suit my new golf!!
