Bought a Seat engine cover off eBay and test fitted it today. Also prized the Seat badge off to reveal a lovely silver VW underneath! £35 delivered - bargain!!!

However, when flipping my oil filler cap the right way round I also noticed the slightest trace of coolant on the oil cap!! Have hence spent the last 3 hours online researching the causes of this. Oil cooler? Head gasket?!

I'm sure I'll be more active on here as time goes on

I took the existing stereo out and had a look what the previous owners had done... Extremely satisfying to take it all out though!ImageImage

Parrot hands free system. The current system clearly didn't have it I'm guessing. I'm currently upgrading it...

I had exactly the same Parrot system in mine when I got it. I also found a speed limiter near the throttle pedal and a tracker in the centre console.

I do love the black badges. That's on my list but with a gloss black Caddy, do I go matt black or gloss black for the badges?? Decisions, decisions...

Today's tinkering was removing the roof bars (until I need them) and put the blanking screws in and most satisfying of all, replacing the key case with a new one. Best of all, the new one works! I forgot the resistor. I replaced that so I now have 4 speeds on the fan. Luxury!

Swapped my old boring steering wheel to a 2018 mk4 caddy mfsw one. Also swapped the slip ring as it was suggested by many on the forum. Everything works except cruise control and driver info buttons for the clock. For some reason when I try to code the cruise to the msfw it doesn't let me, it thinks its on the stalk although I have the base stalk without speedo on it. So now I had to disable it so there is no interference between the stalk and the mfsw. If anyone had similar problems and has a solution please help. Cheers guys

It's not an OEM one, it's just the tailgate one that vanstyle sell. But a very nice fit, no real work to fit it, just painted and laquered. I've just used 3m vhb tape to fit it, seems solid as a rock!

Bashed the ply floor in place, its currently friction fit so that'll be fun to take back out tomorrow (moron) Also slapped some some dodo superliner into the side blanks and some more butyl stuff down on other parts. Wanted to drill the ply to bolt it to the lashing points but its tipped down with rain.
