Neither did I
. It's been sat there ever since I finished the engine swap. Thought I'd go over over it one last time before the scrap guy turned up and spotted them, so whipped them off and put them on the Caddy.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Finally got Cruise Control installed, and working on my early 2015 Caddy yesterday.
Had a bit of a nightmare going back and forward with parts so thought I'd post here in case anyone does a search for them with a similar thoughts.
My Control Module: 5K0 953 569 AC.
My existing Stalk set: 5K0 953 502 L
My replacement Stalk set: 5K0 953 502 N
3 bits of coding in OBD11 and job done.
01 Engine - Long coding - cruise control 'installed'
16 Steering Column - Long Coding - no16 'active' but also on the list of long coding options, click the I/O button at the top, find CC and select the 'by turn signal'
Still didn't work. Locked up the van, went and had a coffee, came back and there it was, the little icon of happiness. Test drive proved all sorted. A good day!

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Not today but this week did the following to the highline having now had it a couple of weeks:
Thule roof cross bars & same key / barrel as other vehicles
Colour coded side mouldings in Pearl white
Reverse camera (aftermarket but coded to work with factory park sensors)
LED sidelights, fog lights & plate lights
Stop start memory module thing from Ali express
Removed bulkhead
Dynamat rear & fully carpeted
Tinted rear windows
Carpet mats
Engine cover
Bonnet insulation
Coded cornering lights
Wireless CarPlay dongle
Alexa auto
Made a wireless charger & mounted into factory trim
Genuine mud flaps
Stuck private plate on it
Rear speakers installed in carpeted pods & coded with vcds
Other random coding with auto locks, follow home lights etc etc
Van already on coilovers, side bars & 19s when bought it
To do this week:
Power folding mirrors
Vinyl wrap inside of rear doors as didn’t want to carpet to the seal
Bixenons
Colour code rear trim
Code for LED in vcds or obdeleven
Detachable 13 pin tow bar
ACC coding & steering wheel button swap to utilise the crash radar
Work out best way of installing kessy or pke of some sort
Install my old scirocco seats
Touran carpet in footwells
Also got hold of a factory dog guard so need to work out how to modify it to fit further back than the bulk head but further forward to where the dog guard should go lol
I will post some pictures when all done. Working long hours so having to do this at night

On my newly acquired Caddy I spent far to long changing out the interior lights only to realise the previous owner pulled the fuse
Lesson learned check the fuse first before embarking on a light/bulb changing operation
Next on the list is to figure out why the start stop won’t engage

Start stop wise, light above the gear stick make sure it's not yellow, don't have the blower fan on either speeds 3 or 4, or heated screens.Dazzerm wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 8:00 pm On my newly acquired Caddy I spent far to long changing out the interior lights only to realise the previous owner pulled the fuse

Or given they just pulled the fuse for the lights, check if there's a fuse for it!
Other factors that'll keep it on, minus degree temps, engine not up to temp, creeping on the brake, low/wrong battery, alternator signal cable missing or damaged.

I made another visit to Claudiu at VCDS Diagnostic, this time for my 3D cluster and a few associated coding bits

Drilled out on the ply floor to give some anchor points for the racking I need to build, Tee nuts fitted and glued in place. Hopefully a bit more tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Replaced rear shocks with bilstein from darkside as sick of the rattle from the ones that were fitted by previous owner

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Quick wash and removed all the wheels, ready for a refurb on Monday. Fitted new centre cap stickers to the new centre caps.
Fitted rear mud flaps, side bars are fouling the front ones, so either slide the bars back a little or remove completely and maybe replace with some side skirt splitters.
Adjusted coil overs, raised about 10mm, may go up a bit more as I have front mud flaps/splitter still to fit.
Fix the rear number plate light holder as the brass insert in on of the mounting points came out, so epoxy'd it back in and tidied it all up.

@ Step83 - did you take any pics of the works you conducted, in particular the rear mesh and ply fixings ?
@ Sloopjonbee - same same, any pics of your works ?

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Sorry Stu none yesterday...but I have a build thread on the go. One from today...

Fitted just a wee winglet mud flap on the front...seen someone else do similar...had a few spare marsh guards, mtb mud guards, so I just traced the outline of the front mudflap and slapped them on....I give the writing about a day on the road before it's no more.
Fitted wiring for W8 interior light, at the same time fitted my dash cam, Halo (Road Angel), cables ran via A pillar...what a pain those clips are...new ones needed, so on order.
I probably need new discs, these ones have a bit of a lip...but I gave the disk shoulders and caliper a wee spruce up with some spray hammerite. So they at least look ok when I put the fresh wheels on before Christmas.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Ordered a new VW thermostat €50 versus €12 for a spurious one which just looked very poor quality.
Also lost one of the bolts holding it on..M7 very unusually so ordered one of those also.
Plans for 2024, source new front and rear grey plastic bumpers and front panel as the existing one is cracked.
Find an engine cover somewhere and will probably buy a new undertray.
Also will fit a side rail cover. That should be me for the year.
