Yes, ignition was off the full time, have a feeling I haven’t wired the plugs correctly, on the drivers side there’s 3 wires, on the oassengers theres 5 on the seat sides, on the body loom there’s 3 on the caddy

Removed seats and center console gave it all a clean and general tidy as previous owner hadn’t bolted everything up quite right
Also fitted a compact sub under the passenger seat

Good morning everyone,

Last weekend I insulated my floor in the cabin and retrofitted a Touran Mk1 carpet, next step is a touran center console with armrest and then door insulation include new speaker set.

That looks nice, I started looking for a Touran front carpet set on eBay but people are asking £100 for them on there. Bloody cheeky.

I’ll be quite honest I haven’t read all the posts, are there any recommendations in terms of must have mods for the caddy?

Pulled the EGR and throttle bottle and that pip that connects both to the intake manifold

Gave both a good clean up of all the built up sludge.

Am debating pulling the intake manifold so that I can clean it too... But it's so many new gaskets I need to buy.....

About 3 EGR gaskets, exhaust gasket, intake gasket for like $200 worth of gaskets...

I REALLY want to clean it... But also, I don't want to spend $200 on gaskets when I am already 2K deep in parts and refurbishment....

The entire intake will be choked too. I wondered about the cleaning system that Edd China was advocating, if it could get rid of the amount of sludge built up. I've personally seen Citroen HDi engines stripped down and the intake runners had been reduced from 38mm down to about 15mm due to carbon sludge build up and it's a wonder the engine even runs at that point.

Big difference then?

Any change to the fuel efficiency?

Today I installed a leather steering wheel on my Caddy and welded a bracket for a Lagun table.

Today I took the shocks, steering knuckles and driveshafts of the touran, had to take them off together as I couldn’t undo the driveshaft bolts😡.
Only got one side off of the caddy, what a f#€king ball ache. The three bolts under wiper motor are a bitch to get at!!
Had to split the bolt on the drop link to get it off.
Will have a go at other one in the morning and get the touran ones on.
After that think all the mechanical bits are done💪🏼 and I’ll be moving on to the electrics!

Today i removed the bulkhead, attempted to fit carplay but ultimately was not impressed with the quality of the screen so returned it (any recommendations for a mk3 caddy?) then sat in the back and enjoyed the fact i can chill in my van
