Cheers Dan, I’ve got some of the black VHB tape and primer in the garage but not sure what the spec of the tape is now, so I’ll get some of that grey ordered and give it a go.

@Borvad, Thanks for making the effort to sign up to the forum and for the comment, it’s much appreciated. You’ve definitely come to the right place, have a luck through all the build threads as there’s some amazing vans on here. Good luck in your van search.

Literally everything about the van and how I’ve done things is within this build thread but if you can’t find what your looking for don’t hesitate to ask.

Day spent cleaning my suspension and brakes in preparation for Cleanfest show next weekend. This will be the last time they are cleaned this year, and I can’t see them surviving the winter tbh, so it’s looking like I’ll have to get the callipers refurbished for next year. I also need to find a colour match for the Bilstein/ABP shocks so I can clean up a little surface corrosion.
Whilst I had the van in bits I also test fit the “new to me” wheels that I’m going to run over winter (they do need a refurb). They are 19” three piece forged Rotiform HUR-T’s, which I done a deal with a mate for my 20” OZ Superturismo’s. They are sided and I’ve fit opposite sides, as I wanted to see which orientation looked best. I think the way that’s fitted to the front will be the way (which is also how my mate had them on his).

Thankyou.

There was Pete, 3rd time I’ve been and it always seems to attract some real nice impressive builds, with a lot arriving in covered trailers.

Never got the trailer queen thing unless it broke down on the way!

Well I think it’s time to engage full winter mode and take my good wheels off, the roads are absolutely covered in mulch and debris now and I can’t see them getting any better for a while. To be fair I’ve probably pushed my luck already running these daily all summer, but they have faired well with no issues.
I also need to decide if I’m going to bother with any shows next year now, as there’s quite a few jobs that I’ll need to do over winter if I am. Brakes will need a refurb and majority of the suspension components will need re-powder coated/painted to start with.

Decent weather tonight so gave the van a wash, put the seat covers on, rubber mats in and swapped the wheels. Image
I’ve been told on Instagram that it’s criminal to run Rotiform three piece forged HUR-T as winter wheels. Image

Swapped the wheels round from side to side, I think this way looks better? I reckon it’s good for at least 10bhp down hill with a tail wind!

Your attention to detail is incredibly.
I was happy to just give my brakes, rear axel and shackle kit a quick tickle with some hammerite smooth black
Yourself going the whole 9 yards re powder coating the whole suspension again plus brake refurb, kudos to you buddy

Will say, I've seen pics of your van that has been screenshot and occasionally will crop up on various Facebook groups. I'm not sure if you are aware of this.
