I modified my axle brackets to pull the wheels back in line. Took about 40mins to take them off re machine them and pop them back on. Heres a pic of my beautiful assistant holding the bottom clamp with the elongated clearance hole i had just machined in. Image and heres a pic of the other being machined out on the mill. Image

This way saved me adding an extra chunk of steel and lowering even further. Keep it simple i always say Image

shizzle2000 wrote:Friday whilst still on my camping holiday and next to the tent I got the insulation fitted. What an exercise in tedium. I used about 35m2 of double foil bubble wrap with the would be window areas 8 layers thick and in the doors and above the rear wheel arches about 4 to 6 layers.
Pain in the ass and like everything else it's just as you finish you get the nack.

Once it's V5 converted I plan to insulate the rear glass area as well as its blackout glass anyway.
This might change later though.

Not strictly today, but making a start on sound deadening.
(Arches done too, but on the outside under the plastic arch liners)
Foam to add on top.

All brand new
Hello , I'm looking at doing the same as you and going 40mm lower on the front .
I've used pi springs on my last 4 cars and find them to be really good.
It's about 60 od quid for springs but looking at the flip kit from darkside that is 150 when you said you took your time and got all the parts for 150 od what did you mean ? Had you some parts on ebay?
I'm looking to order parts today or tomorrow so as i can drop it next week.

Just before anyone says go VMAX coilovers. I would love to but this month I'm looking at pumping about 2 to 3 k into the van and this is one of the compromise I have to make.
I won't be putting the van up and down and I can't really see the point of coilovers when we're dealing with leaf springs and axles at the rear.
Ta if anyone helps.

Installed a 2014 gateway in my 2004 SWB. All in order to fix my battery drain issue. It also fixed the problem that the RNS didn't see the rear gear when selected.

(Mind you, I'm Dutch, so the RNS is set to Dutch as well Image )

Was more easy than I thought, allmost plug and play (apart from the coding)
