Hey Chris mate hope you and the family are well! I was going to use lizard skin but couldn’t get any during lockdown in the end having tried to order it 3 times but order cancelled each time! Luckily though my cousin’s husband has a small paint and materials shop in the village a mile up the road from me and he opened the place up for me to have a look what he had in. He didn’t have any of this lizard skin which incidentally is quite expensive but did have some other stuff which i cant remember its name now. I think it was made by Upol but i’ll check later for you buddy. It was bloody good stuff though and only £10 a bottle (used 4) and it read that it did everything this lizard skin did. Applied with a shultz gun, dries hard and paintable. Did the trick and painted it with pure grey! Used seam sealer/adhesive for the welds from same place. Let me know if you need anything from there as get good prices and he still supplies solvent based paint still which is quite rare these days and in my opinion far better than water base when painting without a booth. I use Kapci paint which has always been ok for me and very reasonably priced. Here’s a link to Roger’s place, CC paints. All the best mate and love to the family, HefImage

Cheers Hef, we’re all good thanks. Hope you and yours are all well.

Looks a good finish all painted up mate, I’ll have to keep it in mind when I strip and redo mine next year.

I need to hear it.....! Especially the 'three flap technique ' you're gonna have going on! ;)

Thanks lads @james400 and @Stedlocsk ...

Had a bit of a set back today as thought the Audi A3 prop was going to fit by removing the donut spacer but sadly it just wont work ... so off to Firow Prop shafts in Crewe Cheshire tomorrow to have the Passat prop shaft reduced to fit if they can do it while I wait! The saga continues

@Stedlocks

Yep the 3 valve flap technique is a derivative of course of the 4 sprung duck technique! ... i know ... crap joke lol

Oh crap a week J?!! They say they do a same day service on their website! All i need os a reduction in length as im using the passat engine and box and the passat rear diff so flanges both ends are direct fit. Everything else is in good order on the prop as the car it came from had low miles. I’ll call them in the morning see what they say
