Managed to get a hold of a RCD510 second hand from a local seller for a decent price. Although it doesn’t make much of a difference audio wise, being able to use my SW buttons to change track on the blue tooth audio make a lot of difference. Also the cockpit looks a lot more modern.

Thanks! And right back at you!
Need to have look at what effort is needed to make the metal sound more alive through the speakers with the RCD510 head unit.

Stripped the interior from all trim mounted above the dash. Put 2mm Silent Coat on all single metal sheets and 10mm Edpm closed cell foam on all surfaces.
I even got the misses to do some work.

I decided that the 1k brake paint I put on my front golf mk5 R32 calipers wasn’t going to be durable enough. So once again I stripped them down completely with a wire brush and some elbow grease.
Got to bed way too late last night

Finally a productive weekend.
Managed to mount the last polyurethane bushing in the rear. Now both LH and RH leaf springs and shackles have their pu bushings mounted.
Painted the golf R32 calipers with 2k paint, and did let it harden a few days before assembly.
Dismounted the caddy original front brakes, but not without struggle. Had to drill out(3+1) screws to get the brake discs and what was left of the protective shields off.
Then assembled the freshly painted gti calipers. Very pleased with how the retaining clip with stickers and 2k clear came out.

With the wheels mounted. Subtle but if you are looking for it it’s easy to see. Could have used yet another set of nicer wheels

I hope so! I’ve already spent a lot of time on it, and all the adventures are still to go

First night in the caddy done and dusted. Although it is very far from done, the caddy was very comfortable to sleep in. The ventilation was sufficient with a slightly opened boot and front windows rolled down a few cm or so.

Have done exactly the same as you. Made a few mods to make it less van and more comfortable and then had a couple of camping trips in it.
I'm a bit further with the camper build and a bit less on the vehicle mods but it's a great feeling to use it for what it was bought for.
