Re: My Caddy 'R' build thread
[quote="dan@biali"]Today I drove to Norfolk, a mere 165 miles each way, to see a man named Ed! I had arranged with him to attempt to code the Scirocco R cluster to the Caddy and he also agreed to fit the MFSW and sort the BT module for the stereo. It turns out, the stereo has a built in BT module so just needed activating on vagcom. The steering wheel install was easy enough for him, and while he was there, he tidied up my cabling for the W8 light and wired the LEDs up and swapped out the microphone for a better solution that he made up in situ.

The cluster was also simple enough for him. It needed coding and writing all my data from the original cluster to it, plus when we test fitted it, it was obvious the Scirocco front portion was very slightly different. A simple fix - Ed just removed the gauges themselves and swapped the case from my original cluster to the new one. Job done. Looks very cool and has full colour highline display now.
Just one question what colour is the stitching ? Thanks

Stitching is silver on the steering wheel.
As for the bumper, don't know what you're talking about.....................!

Silver ? Flannel grey ?dan@biali wrote:I doubt the massive cone air filter will let any more dirt into the engine than the OE airbox but its something I can occasionally check by taking it apart.
After an eventful run last night where I managed to get the van into limp mode (I believe the Revo map might need adjusting as the overboost threshold is too low but I was giving it a load of stick!) I had success today getting the seats mounted.
These are the MK5 Golf buckles I had to buy as the Caddy ones mount side on into the frame of the seats whereas these as you can see mount under the frame.
The VW bolts needed shaving down a bit to fit though as they protruded passed the Recaro frame, but nothing a trusty Dremel and a metal filing bit couldn't handle!
Just a quick pic as haven't given the interior a proper clean yet.
Part numbers for handbrake sleeves:
1T0 711 461 A Leather + colour code from below. All are about £80
E74 - black
LMD - black/red
KMY - black/flannel grey
BDD - black/orange
I think the aluminium look button is:
1T0 711 333 3Q7
and they're about £4.
