Now on Airlift Performance - Another Mountain Bike Caddy
So just a few pictures of my progress to date on my Caddy, doing it on a student budget it's going to take a while till I'm finally happy with it. Seen a few riders on here already and met a couple of you so will hopefully see you around now I'm getting somewhere!
So far..
-Coilovers
-18" BBS CK's
-Rail kit from R.A.D
-Carpeted rear inc. upholstered bed.
-Leisure battery and TV/Xbox hook-up
-Rear light tint
-Plate surrounds
-De-wiper etc..
Things I've got here to fit hopefully this week
-Axle relocation plates from R.A.D
-Window tint
-More carpeting to finish off
And finally my ideas for the near future
-Colour coded Touran side moldings, tailgate section and mirrors (I think I'm going to leave the bumpers as with all the Downhill races being in farmers fields, they scrape a lot and I couldn't handle the scratches!)
-Edition 30 headlights
- Various other bits but lets get onto the pictures..
Excuse the crappy Iphone pictures, I've got some more parts to fit so hopefully i'll be able to get some pictures finally too!
The day I got it after a quick polish (this thing was swirl mark central!)
First up came the Coilies, made a huge difference and the fields an adventure...
Next up were the wheels, got a nice price on these to keep me going.
A few more parts on
Last week was spent sorting out the paint.. Swirls are finally gone and it beads up nicely after a lot of elbow grease..
And we are pretty much there.. A long road to go but this is where I'm at at the moment, comments and any ideas you've got would be great ..

Re: Another Mountain Bike Caddy in Progress!
Haha you dont want to know how much I've sold for it! My old car and downhill bike are included, an emptied bank account and 6 months of 8-5 work all gone with only a little bit of an IOU left . But luckily it used to be a demo/courtesy van so managed a good price on it..
Cheers for the comments I'll hopefully get home to do some more touches this week like carpeting the foot-wells and doing the axle plates so ill upload some better pictures when I can!

This year i'll be at all the Pearce Cycles rounds and most of the nationals (money depending, they've gone downhill in my opinion and aren't worth the fuel at the moment). I'll be at the Astonhill races too. What does your van look like? I'll keep an eye out for you

Re: Another Mountain Bike Caddy in Progress!
Cheers for the comments, I love the colour too, hated it at first though! The swirl marks were horrendous in the sunlight and it drove me mad but its a much deeper colour now.
Currently on the Vmaxx set up for now to keep me going, but at the moment no complaints at all with them. So I'm on the hangers that come with the kit at the back, then the axle plates from R.A.D should bring it down another 10mm. But I still want it that little bit more so i'll have to see what else I can docountry boy wrote:Nice, what coilovers are you using? Is it on the standard rear hangers?

Re: Another Mountain Bike Caddy in Progress- A little update
So today I managed to get home and get some more work done!
First up was to get the axle back in the center of the arch and down abit thanks to R.A.D's kit.
Super easy to fit, took me about an hour on my own, with coming in to warm the fingers up..
Gave the wheels a quick clean while I could get to them..
So thats where its sitting, nice and central and a little lower, took the front down 10mm aswell to match it all up.
Then it was onto finish some of the carpeting off... I'm thinking some quilted headlining in there next?
And seeing as the light was still out a wash, polish and wax and it's all clean again
Thanks.
