Do you think it could be hitting the bump stops?

Exhaust on the rear beam?

Does it only happen over bumps?

Mines did exactly the same, the shocks are notorious for knocking, I replaced mines with different ones off eBay, knocking gone

Being on the lowest setting I think it will be the exhaust knocking on the anti roll bar mount.

This is a bit difficult to check because when you jack up the rear, the axle moves away from the exhaust so it looks like there is plenty of room.

Best way is to use ramps so the wheels/axle stays in the same position relative to the exhaust.

Saying that in my case it's the VMax shocks. When I replaced mine with the originals there is no noise.

it will be what Strath25 said. the Vmaxx rear shocks are crap and only way you will get rid of the noise is to replace them.
i fitted gaz shocks on mine and knocking noise gone. £133 delivered.
2 x "GT6-5263" is the number for the shorter ones.

Does it sound like this

http://youtu.be/LzIfvG3LbK8

That's my KW V1s clonking. Supposedly the vmaxx shocks can occasionally make the same noise.

Do you think if I lift it up a hole so the shockers have more travel it will be better?

With mine it was the top bushing. Cheap materials and possibly a part that got redesigned slightly seem to be the culprit. By changing to V2 dampers on the rear the problem disappeared.

I had a look today I'll put it on the ramp in the morning I might put the old shockers back on just to see if it makes a different and double check everything

Knocking on mine turned out to be anti roll bar D rubbers.
The ones that clamp the roll bar to the beam.
About £3 each from euro car parts........

Mines were exactly the same, couldn't be bothered waiting for another set to knock again so splashed out on others
