CCR work van build
Hi everyone, thought I’d do a build thread on my new work van. I sold my caddy about 6 years ago and missed it ever since so had to get another. This bone stock 150 dsg highline popped up for sale at a good price to jumped on it as it was only down the road!
First job! Lower and wheels. I’ve never worked much on modern cars but built lots of classics so wasn’t shy about getting stuck in. Dark side flip kit and Eibach 60mm springs had it sitting just right for a practical work horse
Unfortunately the driveshaft decided it didn’t want to work anymore so replaced that but I overall everything went well. I fitted genuine bi xenon lights at the same time and got them coded by VCDS Diagnostics at the next day.
Then onto the interior. I managed to pick up a leather touran interior but fancied something nice up front so managed to get some Wingbacks locally. VCDS diagnostics again helped out with the electrics. While I was doing the rear seat install I took the opportunity to fit a touran centre console and leather armrest along with a black carpet set. Sound deadening and carpeting in the back will be done in the comin months along with an alcantara trimmed dash.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come with paint - Golf 7.5gti hybrid front and mk8 r rear hybrid bumpers courtesy of Custom Hybrid Bumpers.
We’ll be doing a tailgate conversion and the colour change at work (Classic Car Revivals)
I’ve also had it mapped to 200 and adblue delete.
Can’t wait to move this on to the next stage.

Nice work so far mate. Those wingbacks look epic. The bumpers smart too, it’s gonna look great when they’re on.

Great start, blimey your not hanging about.
It's amazing how a set of wheels and a nice subtle drop improves the aesthetics no end.
Claudiu of vcds diagnostics is a great guy, used his services a couple of times over the years.
Looking forward to the colour change

Re: CCR work van build
Thanks everyone. So I had an issue with the van and that chap I bought it from kindly took it back to fix it. Long story short it appears it previously had a silica header tank….bag must have popped and slowly blocked everything. New rad, charge cooler rad and heater matrix along with full flush. Hopefully that’s sorted it now!
Plan on taking the dash out on Friday and getting it over to Lavish Automotive for the alcantara treatment. When it comes back the new mk8 golf R wheel can go on along with the blue 3d cluster. I’ll also be stripping it apart the following week for paint. Also going to be doing the tailgate conversion in the next couple of weeks so it’s all go!
DW2207 yeah Claudio is a top chap!

Re: CCR work van build
Bit if progress on the van! Tailgate conversion done apart from wiring. Caddy life door fitted. Full stripped and about half done prepping for paint. Should see it in colour next week! Dash is still with Lavish though

Looking forward to seeing those bumpers on!
How tricky is the conversion from barn doors to tailgate?

Re: CCR work van build
Not too bad, I reckon all in it’s taken me a day to fit the tailgate and associated parts. Probably do it quicker now I’ve done one.

I used to work for a VW parts company based at New Wellbury farm near you
Impressive looking build, good thinking buying one already in primer ready for the colour change
What’s the specs on the wheels and tyres?

Exciting build- right to some of the best goodies available from VW right away- wingbacks are thin on the ground and those bumpers look exceptional!
