Raph’s Caddy build thread
Hello!!
I had never show you my Caddy so I'm starting!
It's 2007 1.9 tdi 105 that I bought in 2013 with 87000 km on the clock.
He now has 250000 km.
Here is the list of mods that I took about 6 months to do after buying the van:
Outside:
- Audi A8 rims 8.5x18 ET45
- Dunlop Sportmax tires in 225x40/18
- Eibach spring -45 mm
- Touran 1 front bumper
- Touran 1 front grill
- Touran 1 door rails
- Side door rail cover
- Color coded bumpers and moldings
- SEAT Leon front splitter
- Wipper delete
- Color coded VW rear badge
- Caddy and TDI badges delete
- Led licence plate light
Interior:
- Golf mk5 GTI steering wheel
- Audi Sline gear knob
- Chrome inserts on vents
- OEM aluminum headlight control
- OEM aluminum mirrors control
- OEM aluminum footrest
- 12v Audi aluminum socket
- Led Passat W8 interior light
- Led rear interior lights
- Glove box
- Touran Highline sports seats
- Touran seat console
- Touran doorcards
- Touran leather handbrake handle
- Caddy Life carpet
- Volkswagen accessory mats
- All plastics passed in anthracite color (center console, steps, etc.)
- Kenwood 2din control unit
- Amplifier and Focal Subwoofer
- Fully insulated front and rear cabin
- Fully carpeted rear cabin
- Caddy Life rear roof
- 40% tinted front windows
- 95% tinted rear windows
Engine:
- BMC air filter
- Map Shiftech (117hp to 149hp)
- Engine cover insulation
Others:
- Extreme Vision Phillips bulbs
- Complete detailing
Finally:
There, I think I've done everything!
After 10 years of happiness driving this van, the desire to buy a newer one came to me but having no mechanical problems, I decided to upgrade mine.
Pictures to come!

Raph’s Caddy build thread
Thanks guys!
Today, dismantling the dashboard to replace it with a 2014 Touran model.
I took the opportunity to improve the insulation as much as possible, as is already the case for the back of the van.
.
Same work with the console. Dismantling, cleaning, insulation and installation of a Touran console with armrest.
I take advantage of the disassembled seats to do a big cleaning with the carpet cleaner at the front but also at the back at the same time.

Nice work mate. The van is looking really good. I want to do a Touran dashboard conversion one day.

Re: Raph’s Caddy build thread
The quality is superior on the upper part but the lower part is quite disappointing (same as the Caddy). So, I prowl on YouTube to learn how to sew in order to make the lower dashboard and the center console in leather or alcantara.
Concerning the sound insulation, I would like to try the car to see if the difference is important but I actually cannot drive with it because I have removed the seats and the new ones have electric adjustments impossible to start because I don't have the correct harness. I would like to join Tommyzoom but not having Insta and Doc not having accepted my request made a few months ago to access pm, I am blocked!
In the meantime, I have renovated my future seats.
A lot of storage defects that I managed to make almost disappear.
I just have to clean them and then find a solution to connect them to the car. I am in contact with a Polishman who can do this to me, but 3500 kilometres, 34 hours of driving, travel costs, 250€ for work, electric seats are expensive!... I would have known, I would have put manual seats!

Re: Raph’s Caddy build thread
Doc will have only blocked your upgrade request if you asked for a level of access to the forum before you’ve made the correct number of posts. If he has asked you to make double the amount of posts as a result, then do as he asks and put your request in again.

Re: Raph’s Caddy build thread
I was well over the number of posts when I made my request. Doc didn't double message me like he does for premature requests.
I will reapply.

Raph
I think I was up to nearly 100 posts before my 30+ status was recognized
I must have put in 3 requests and prob pissed him off (soz Doc)
I was excited, keen, anxious to get in to the access only areas to read up and see more
Doc is a busy man and VERY helpful
It is a relatively easy task (I imagine) to approve / give access but we just have to be patient as this is a side hustle and not a full time job (although the effort Doc puts in you would think otherwise)
You seem very advanced in your abilities and till approved just keep posting and waiting

@ Swan
@ stu_b
I think you misinterpreted my words. When I say Doc didn't accept my request, I suspect it's because he didn't see it.
I know he is a busyman, not to mention that managing a forum is not easy, difficult to have eyes everywhere!
Managing a forum requires a lot of devotion and it must be admitted that this is the case of Doc who is not stingy with information when we manage to join him.

Hey Raph
Maybe a slight misunderstanding regarding Doc processing etc ....
Nonetheless, yes he's a busy man and can only do one thing at a time !!
Like myself (not that long ago when waiting approval) be patient as I'm sure he's seen the request - assuming it's in the right place with the correct words (only ) and he will process in time
Welcome aboard
Nice to meet with you
